Based locally in West Sussex, Greenpower reaches out to children and young people, aged between 9 and 25, in schools and communities around the world. They work together with more than 10,000 students each year to provide training, equipment and materials for a simple and exciting project: to design, build, and race their very own electric car. The budding young teams go on to race their finished creations at Greenpower events across the UK and in other countries, including USA, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and China with the annual International final. We can already see the positive knock-on effect of the vital work Greenpower does. Not only does it promote teamwork, innovation and perseverance, but it looks to the future of STEM, and in doing so, ignites young minds and inspires imaginations to flourish and explore the world of renewable energy and sustainable engineering.
