RivTide Power

Generating commercially viable renewable power from slow moving, shallow or deep water, whether river, estuarine, tidal or ocean current.

There is a major global requirement for safe, robust and scalable renewable energy to reduce our carbon emissions. Tidal energy is a huge resource that often causes frustration as it has not yet been much of a success. We believe this is because existing technologies target high speed areas of flow, typically greater than 2m/s. There is an abundant, alternative resource of less than 2m/s which is currently underutilised.

The solution to this is our patented hydrokinetic turbine called MOWT. MOWT, which stand for Mass of Water Turbine, has been specifically engineered to generate power from slow flowing water and works optimally between 1-2 m/s, but can also generate in faster and slower water flows.

Our technology has a low environmental impact, is safe for marine life and is entirely scalable from kilowatts to multi-megawatts. Applications include small-scale off grid generation for battery charging up to megawatt gird connected production.
