Our net-zero hydrogen production within the reservoir uses two key technologies:
In-Situ Oxidation / Gasification of crude oil and reservoir brine, coupled with Carbon Sequestration (CCS). These technologies are mature but have never been combined and optimized for underground hydrogen production, until now. The reservoir effectively becomes a massive reaction chamber.
Complex geoscience and dynamic reservoir modelling have indicated hydrogen production underground is possible for many years, as the reservoir efficiently converts its stuck oil into hydrogen.
